If your hearing scratching noises in your cover from a failed low pressure oil pump, you can repair it easy without having the replace the whole timing cover which requires the engine to be taken out. 

To repair the damaged low pressure oil pump, first remove the original oil pump and thoroughly clean all of it. A new wear plate is siliconed to the timing cover using a machine ground install tool. Secondly let the plate set overnight, remove the tool, trim away any dry silicone outside the wear plate and install the pump like normal. 

These plates come with a better surface for the pump gear allowing more flow by creating more efficiency. These kits come with one tool, one plate and one package of sealant.
