The Edge 84140-3 Insight+ CTS3 is a combined in-cabin monitor and “tuning interface” device designed primarily for certain diesel trucks. It comes pre-loaded with a VIN-specific "custom tune license" — meaning it gives you, in one device, the ability to both monitor engine/vehicle parameters (boost, exhaust temps, transmission temps, etc.) and flash custom tuning calibrations into your vehicle’s ECM (engine computer) — as long as a compatible custom tune is provided by an approved 3rd-party tuner.

Real-time monitoring of critical engine/exhaust/vehicle data — boost, exhaust gas temps, transmission temps, EGTs, RPM, regen cycles, etc. Ability to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes (ECM/TCM) directly from the device. Data logging with export capability — useful for tracking performance, tuning results, or diagnosing issues over time. Performance meter functions — e.g. 0–60 mph, ¼-mile times (if your truck’s setup supports it) for “performance testing.” Manual DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration capability (on supported trucks/diesel engines), which can be handy if you tow or don’t drive enough to let passive regen complete. Simple installation: plug into the OBD-II (or appropriate port), no major wiring required. Custom-tune flashing support: once you have a compatible tune file from an approved custom tuner, you can load it directly via the Insight+.

It will not support emissions-defeat calibrations — Edge states that sort of tuning is excluded under the device’s terms. Given the custom tune requirement, you’ll want to ensure the tuner knows your exact build (engine/aftertreatment/emissions status, etc.) to avoid issues. As with any tuning device: flashing custom tunes always carries some risk — improper tunes can cause drivability issues, excessive exhaust temps, engine/transmission stress — so use caution and get a tune matched to your build and intended use.
