The LC3Z-8A520-A is a turbocharger coolant line/ coolant-tube assembly from Ford — often referred to as the “turbo coolant tube” or “upper return tube / turbo-to-water-crossover tube.” The turbocharger coolant tube routes engine coolant to and from the turbocharger housing. On the Powerstroke 6.7L, the coolant system cools not just the block/head but also the turbo, EGR cooler, etc.

This coolant flow helps regulate the temperature of the turbocharger — preventing overheating, ensuring proper lubrication, and extending the life of the turbo’s internal components. The system draws coolant from engine coolant passages, sends it through the turbo, and returns it to the engine coolant crossover/front-pack. Because turbos see high heat and pressures, having a proper coolant tube (sealed correctly, not cracked or degraded) is critical to avoid coolant leaks, turbo overheating, or coolant contamination.
