The S&B 75-6001 and 75-6001D Open Air Intake systems are designed to maximize airflow and turbo sound for 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke diesel trucks.

Unlike sealed intake systems, this open air intake design allows the turbocharger to draw air with minimal restriction. The exposed high-capacity air filter allows stronger airflow while producing a noticeably louder turbo spool sound.

Open intake systems are popular among diesel enthusiasts who want improved airflow potential and aggressive turbo sound, especially on tuned trucks and performance builds.

This intake system is part of the complete lineup of S&B Powerstroke cold air intakes and is manufactured by S&B Filters.

Vehicle Fitment

The S&B 75-6001 and 75-6001D intake systems fit the following trucks equipped with the 6.7L Powerstroke diesel engine:

  • 2017 Ford F250 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2018 Ford F250 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2019 Ford F250 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2017 Ford F350 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2018 Ford F350 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2019 Ford F350 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2017 Ford F450 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2018 Ford F450 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke
  • 2019 Ford F450 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke

Available Filter Options

75-6001 – Cleanable Oiled Filter

This version includes a reusable cotton filter treated with oil to capture fine dust particles while maintaining strong airflow. The filter can be cleaned and re-oiled using a standard filter cleaning kit.

75-6001D – Dry Extendable Media Filter

This version includes a synthetic dry filter that does not require oil. Maintenance typically involves removing the filter and tapping or blowing out debris during service intervals.

Both filter options are engineered by S&B to maintain strong airflow performance while providing proper filtration protection.

Why Choose an Open Intake?

Maximum Airflow

The open intake design allows the turbocharger to draw air with minimal restriction compared to the factory intake system.

Louder Turbo Sound

Open intake systems allow turbo spool and intake noise to be heard clearly compared to sealed airboxes.

High Capacity Filter

The oversized performance air filter provides strong airflow capacity for stock and tuned diesel trucks.

Direct Fit Design

The S&B intake system is designed specifically for 2017-2019 Ford Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.7L Powerstroke engine.

S&B 75-6001 / 75-6001D Intake FAQ

Does this intake increase turbo sound?

Yes. Open air intake systems allow turbo spool and airflow noise to be heard more clearly compared to sealed intake systems.

Does this intake require tuning?

No tuning is required. The intake installs as a direct replacement for the factory intake system.

What is the difference between 75-6001 and 75-6001D?

The 75-6001 includes a reusable cleanable oiled filter, while the 75-6001D includes a dry synthetic filter that does not require oil.

Is an open intake good for performance trucks?

Many performance builds prefer open intakes because they provide strong airflow and allow the turbocharger to be heard more clearly.
