Fitment and Downpipe Notice:
Fits 1991.5-2002 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins only. This turbo uses an HX40 exhaust outlet - it will not connect to factory exhaust without a downpipe or adapter, neither of which is included. Source DALHX40 (4" downpipe, 1994-2002) or DAP-22445 (HX40 to HX35 adapter) before your install date.

The DAP G2 S363 63/68/12 is a billet S300-based turbocharger built for 1991.5-2002 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins trucks targeting serious power - specifically 550HP and high-altitude applications above 4,000 feet where the S362 family starts to run out of compressor headroom. With a 62.99mm billet inducer and 87.37mm exducer flowing 78 lbs/minute, this is the largest compressor in the DAP G2 S300 lineup and is sized for builds that need every bit of that flow. This is not a daily driver turbo for a lightly modified truck - it is the right choice when the build demands it.

Is This The Right Turbo For Your Build?

  • Buy this if you have a 1991.5-2002 5.9L Cummins, are targeting 550HP, running at altitudes above 4,000 feet, or building a truck that will push the upper ceiling of the S362 family.
  • Do not choose this if your build is under 500HP or your primary goal is fast spool and strong street manners - the S362 62/65/12 or 62/68/12 are better matched for that range.
  • Do not choose this if you want a stock-style replacement or a conservative daily driver turbo - this is a high-flow upgrade sized for aggressive builds.
  • Verify before ordering: confirm your exhaust outlet plan, that your manifold is T3, and that your injector and fuel system support the 550HP range this turbo is built for.

550HP and High Altitude - Where The S363 63/68/12 Earns Its Place

The S363 takes the same 68mm Inconel turbine and 12cm gated housing used in the S362 62/68/12 and pairs it with a larger compressor: 62.99mm inducer and an 87.37mm exducer that moves 78 lbs/minute. That larger exducer is where the S363 separates from the S362 - more compressor discharge area means more airflow capacity at the top end, which is exactly what high-altitude applications need to maintain power when atmospheric pressure drops.

S363 63/68/12 vs S362 62/68/12 - The Flow Difference
S363 63/68/12 (this turbo): 62.99mm inducer, 87.37mm exducer, 78 lbs/min - best for 550HP and altitudes above 4,000 ft where larger compressor flow is required.
S362 62/68/12: 61.44mm inducer, 83.47mm exducer, 77 lbs/min - strong top-end performer for builds up to the upper 400s-low 500s at sea level.

Buy the S363 when the build demands 550HP or your altitude requires more compressor flow to make up for thinner air. Stay with the S362 if you are at sea level or lower altitudes and your target is below that ceiling.

For heavy towing with this turbo: tire size, gearing, and tuning all play a major role alongside exhaust housing selection. This turbo supports heavy towing, but the surrounding build needs to be matched to the application for real-world results under load.

Exhaust Outlet - Plan This Before You Order

The HX40 outlet on this turbo does not connect to stock exhaust without additional hardware. Two options cover it:

  • DALHX40 - HX40 4" downpipe for 1994-2002 applications. Use this if you are running or building a 4" exhaust.
  • DAP-22445 - HX40 to HX35 Exhaust Outlet Elbow Adapter. Use this to keep your stock exhaust connection without a full downpipe replacement.

Neither is included in the box. This is the most commonly missed item on this install - have your exhaust outlet solution confirmed before ordering.

T3 Manifold Flange Required:
This is a T3 inlet flange. If your exhaust manifold is T4, you will need a matching manifold or a T3-to-T4 adapter. Confirm your manifold flange type before ordering.

Avoid These Common Mistakes

  • Do not order without a downpipe or adapter. The HX40 outlet will not connect to factory exhaust - source DALHX40 or DAP-22445 before your install date.
  • Do not assume T4 manifold compatibility. This is a T3 inlet. Confirm your manifold flange type before ordering.
  • Do not choose the S363 if your build is under 500HP or at sea level. The larger 87.37mm exducer is built for 550HP and high-altitude applications - the S362 62/68/12 is better matched below that range.
  • Do not confuse the S363 compressor sizing with the S362. The inducer and exducer are both larger on the S363 - this is not a direct swap for an S362 in a build that was sized around the smaller compressor map.
  • Do not order for a post-2002 5.9L Cummins. Fitment ends at 2002.

Before You Order - Final Check

  • Engine confirmed as 1991.5-2002 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins
  • Manifold flange confirmed as T3
  • Exhaust outlet plan confirmed - DALHX40 or DAP-22445 sourced or added to order
  • Build target confirmed at 550HP or altitude above 4,000 ft where the S363 flow advantage applies
  • Shipping address is not California or Colorado

Checklist confirmed? The DAP G2 S363 63/68/12 is the right billet S300 upgrade for your high-output or high-altitude 5.9L Cummins build.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click or tap a question below to expand the answer.
What is the difference between the S363 63/68/12 and the S362 62/68/12?

Both use the same 68mm Inconel turbine (67.56mm exducer, 76.2mm inducer) and gated 12cm housing. The S363 has a larger compressor: 62.99mm inducer and 87.37mm exducer flowing 78 lbs/minute, versus the S362's 61.44mm inducer and 83.47mm exducer at 77 lbs/minute. That larger exducer gives the S363 more airflow headroom at the top end - specifically for 550HP targets and high-altitude applications above 4,000 feet where a larger compressor map is needed to maintain power in thinner air. If your build is below that range at sea level, the S362 62/68/12 is the better match.

Why is the S363 recommended for altitudes above 4,000 feet?

At higher altitudes, atmospheric pressure is lower and air is less dense. A turbocharger has to work harder to deliver the same mass of air to the engine. A larger compressor wheel - like the 62.99mm inducer and 87.37mm exducer on the S363 - has more flow capacity to compensate for the density loss and maintain power output. At sea level, a smaller compressor in the S362 family can hit similar numbers with better spool behavior. Above 4,000 feet, the S363's larger compressor earns its place.

Do I need to buy a downpipe separately?

Yes. The HX40 exhaust outlet does not connect to factory exhaust without additional parts. For a 4" downpipe on 1994-2002 applications, add DALHX40 to your order. To retain your stock exhaust connection, add the DAP-22445 HX40 to HX35 adapter flange instead. Neither is included in the box.

Does this turbo fit a 2003 or newer 5.9L Cummins?

No. This turbo fits 1991.5-2002 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins applications only. The compressor outlet is specifically machined for the 2.91" flange found on 1991.5-2002 Dodge trucks. For 2003 and later applications, you will need a different turbocharger.

Is this a T3 or T4 inlet flange?

This is a T3 inlet flange. If your exhaust manifold is T4, you will need a matching T4 manifold or a T3-to-T4 adapter before this turbo will mount. Confirm your manifold flange type before ordering.

What does the integrated speed sensor port and pre-machined boost port add?

The integrated speed sensor port allows turbo speed sensor installation without drilling or modifying the housing. The pre-machined boost port allows a boost monitoring connection without additional machining. Both are factory-machined features on this unit that save time and eliminate the need for custom fab work during install.

What does the 360-degree severe duty thrust bearing provide?

The 360-degree severe duty thrust bearing provides full-circumference oiling coverage, which extends cartridge life under sustained high-load conditions - extended towing, hard pulls, and extreme-duty use where consistent oil supply to the bearing is critical. At the 550HP range this turbo is designed for, bearing durability under load matters more than it does on a milder build.
