Fits: 2003-2018 Dodge 6.9L/6.7L Cummins

Single rod bearing pair. 6 (SIX) required to do a complete engine.

CR1305CA is a connecting-rod bearing — i.e. the bearing that sits between the connecting rod big end and the crankshaft journal. It belongs to the “CA” series from King Engine Bearings. It is designed as a standard-size, OE-style or replacement bearing (not an oversized or race-spec bearing) with tri-metal, copper-based construction/bi-metal backing — built for “medium-load” or stock-type engines.

The connecting-rod bearing supports the rod as it rotates on the crankshaft journal, allowing smooth rotation while maintaining oil film lubrication between rod and crank. This reduces friction and wear and ensures long life for the rotating assembly. The material — copper-based tri-metal overlay on a steel back — is a conventional design that provides adequate strength and wear resistance under stock or mild-duty engine loads. Because it’s standard size, it’s used when the crankshaft journals have not been ground undersize or machined — i.e. stock journal dimensions.

If you plan a performance build, heavy-duty towing, higher boost/increased cylinder pressure, or high RPM use — medium-load bearings like CR1305CA may become a weak point under the extra stress. High-output engines often benefit from higher-load bearings. If your crankshaft journals have been ground or machined undersize — you’ll need matching undersized bearings, not the “standard” size. For engines expecting very long life under high stress or demanding duty cycles, more robust bearings (with stronger overlays or advanced coatings) may be a better choice.
