The DFC Tow/Haul Standard Series Long Block is a remanufactured engine designed for improved towing and hauling in your 2004.5-2005 GM 6.6L Duramax LLY. Able to support up to 500 horsepower, this DFC engine is remanufactured to meet the most strict guidelines. DFC focuses on correcting the Duramax's known weak points from factory, such as an EDM oil pump shaft with a hardened dowel and Woodruff Keyed camshafts installed to prevent the risk of an oil pressure loss. DFC also rejects any cores that need considerable “restoring” to ensure your engine is built with the best quality components. Each engine is remanufactured using advanced Rottler machining equipment, resulting in an engine that is built to tolerances that are more precise than the factory specs for a more efficient and longer lasting engine!

Engine Remanufacturing 
The DFC short block is machined with near identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that makes less noise and is more balanced.  DFC short blocks include reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, doweled oil pump, bearings, and rods.

Engine Upgrades
During the remanufacturing process, DFC upgrades the Tow/Haul Series engines to give you a better performing and longer lasting engine. Each long block gets a Stage 2 Performance Camshaft, DFC HD Push Rods, ARP 2000 Series Head Studs, Mahle Motorsports HD Pistons, DFC push rods and Hamilton HD valve springs.

Cylinder Head
Unlike some others in the industry that re-use wearing items like valves guides, DFC replaces each one with a new cast guide in every cylinder head. DFC installs all new valves from high quality sources like MAHLE or SBI. To address common cracking areas in the cylinder head, DFC also machines each head to remove the factory hardened seat material. DFC then installs new SBI valve seats to help eliminate premature cracking, giving you a more durable cylinder head.

Tow/Haul Series 6.6L Long Block Includes:
Complete short block with the front cover and seal, rear cover with main seal, oil pan, all new internal components, cylinder heads with all rockers and pushrods installed, doweled oil pump gear, woodruff keyed cam shaft and complete gasket kit for installation.

New Engine Checklist (Replacement Items - Sold Separately):
Oil Cooler - highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.
Injectors - highly recommended especially on higher model engines or engines with contaminated fuel.
Turbocharger - recommended if mileage over 125K, mandatory if shaft play, or if engine was dusted.
Water Pump - highly recommended if engine has over 125K. 
Evans Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion and boilover. 
 
Application Note: 
The specific brand of each component may change due to part availability at the time of each build. Parts are chosen at the discretion of DFC and cannot be specially requested. DFC uses only the best components sourced from multiple brands during the remanufacturing process and backs their engines with an industry-leading 5-year 100,000 mile warranty. 

Note: $500 Crate charge is included in core charge total. Engine shipping crate must be returned with core engine to receive full core credit.
