This pipe is part of the high-pressure common-rail fuel system on 6.6L Duramax L5P diesel engines (and similar GM diesel platforms), and it typically connects fuel rail outlets — it’s often referred to as a rail-to-rail high-pressure line. It’s part of the high-pressure fuel plumbing — not fuel tank or low-pressure feed lines. 

• If damaged, restricted, or contaminated (for example, after an HP4 pump failure), it should be replaced to ensure proper fuel pressure and to prevent fuel leaks or performance issues.
