The 03-12 Cummins trucks came with a 7 micron OEM fuel filter that is only about 60% efficient removing contaminants. That's right only 60% efficient! The inadequate filtration along with increasingly bad fuel, is why they are notorious for taking out injectors.

The injector manufacture for these engines recommend a minimum of 4 micron for ultimate protection. A 7 micron particle has been shown to be the main cause of accelerated pump and injector wear in these High Pressure Common Rails producing upwards of 29,000psi. These 7 micron particles blasting through your injectors at that kind of pressure results in premature failure, which can easily cost upwards of $5,000 in repair bills. In fact, OEM injectors are typically on backorder due to so many being sold worldwide.

We had the CAT 1R-0750 filter in our kits for over 10 years, because they are a great filter and are readily available. Now the CAT filters are considered an older filter-media technology compared to the advancement in filtration over the last several years. We have also seen fake knockoffs out there in the marketplace that can cause issues and leave you less protected. Our Cummins Dual-Filter Kit is for both better fuel and water filtration and is mounted nice and tight up to the cab, inside the frame rail utilizing the rear seat bolts on the drivers seat. This kit requires NO drilling or welding. You simply bolt this on over the frame rail to the rear seat bolts and connect the hoses to your stock fuel line using the supplied fittings. The kit includes everything in the picture below. The installation is very straight-forward and takes approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. The bracket is laser cut 3/16" steel and comes in a black, double powder-coated finish.
